"Where is the RAF?" was the question asked by soldiers in and around Dunkirk as, trapped by the advancing German Army and pounded by the Luftwaffe, they waited their turn for evacuation. Full Naval co-operation was clearly visible, but what of the RAF? In this text the author vindicates the RAF by detailing the outstanding achievements of the pilots and commanders of the squadrons fighting the vital battle against the Luftwaffe at Dunkirk.
