ADLERTAG (VERY RARE- Only 1 available)

Price per Unit (piece): £295.00

Published in 1990, this outstanding print depicts Hawker Hurricanes during another scramble on August 15th 1940 "Adlertag" as the relentless onslaught of the Luftwaffe continued to bomb Fighter Command airfields.

Adlertag (Eagle Day) was the code-word given by Hitler for the day in which a full scale attack had been planned, ahead of the scheduled invasion, in which the Germans believed the RAF would finally be knocked out of the skies. It was not to be as the brave pilots & crews of RAF Fighter Command prevailed against the odds and demonstrated to the Luftwaffe that the RAF would not be easily defeated.

This oustanding and rare print has been personally signed by the artist, Frank Wootton, along with six of the foremost pilots of the Battle of Britain:

Group Captain Frank Carey, CBE, DFC, AFC, DFM

Group Captain John Cunningham, CBE, DSO, DFC

Group Captain Dennis David, CBE, DFC, AFC

Wing Commander Christopher Currant, DSO, DFC

Wing Commander Robert Doe, DSO, DFC

Wing Commander George Unwin, DSO, DFM
