GATHERING OF EAGLES (Rare Secondary Market Print)

B-17's from the Mighty Eigth make their way back from Germany to be faced by the Luftwaffe FW190's, but supported by USAF Mustangs and RAF Spitfires. Signed by seven fantastic aces of the Second World War.

In 1986 when this print was launched, a celebratory reunion and symposium on air combat took place in Las Vegas that involved many of the worlds's greatest and most famous aviators. Stories were swapped about their achievements. However, in 1944, it was a far more serious meeting.

The scene depicted in the painting is about B-17's returning from a bombing mission over Germany, escorted by Mustangs and Spitfires. Having endured all the flak thrown at them, they then had to contend with FW 190's of the Luftwaffe before they got home.

This edition has been signed by the artist along with the signatures of some of the most highly decorated & distinguished fighter pilots of World War Two:

PLEASE NOTE:

Released to us by a collector, this highly sought after print and one of the most acclaimed in Robert Taylors portfolio is available at an incredible price in relation to the secondary market prices paid in recent years.

Sadly due to this print having been previously framed there is a defined discolouration within the cream border around the main image. This is due to where the card mount was located over the print when orignally framed. It has left a slightly lighter cream area where it was not covered.

The remainder of the print is in excellent condition. There is no other damage to due framing or handling marks.

It would make a wonderful re-framing project to enjoy this most iconic of images.

The price offered here is also exceptional considering what the individual & combined values of each of the signatures would achieve on the open market.
