1940 - SUMMER OF LEGENDS (Original Oil Painting)

A stunning painting by artist, Stephen Brown, depicting RAF Hawker Hurricanes of 257 Squadron returning from a combat sortie during the Battle of Britain, September 1940.

The lead aircraft DT-L is that of the legendary Pete Brothers, flying alongside in DT-A is the distinguished fighter Ace Robert Stanford-Tuck.

The back of the canvas has been signed in permanent ink by veteran RAF pilots.
