Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Series

“Here is my selection of Luftwaffe Fighter Pilots chosen for your collection. They all flew under my command in WWII and are all willing to contribute to your autograph collection. I admire your foresight and am happy to contribute myself”

Generalleutnant Adolf Galland - May, 1984

Standard Edition

"Oberleutnant Walter Wolfrum Knights Cross"

Walter Wolfrum flew with the famous JG-52 wing in the East and by 1944 was one of the wing’s most successful fighter aces. Commanding 1 squadron on 30 May 1940 he was credited with 11 aerial victories over the Ploesti oilfields – in a single day!

Of Walter Wolfrum’s 137 air victories 119 were against fighters – a mark of his supreme flying ability. This accomplished and determined fighter ace also sank a gunboat, was wounded four times, experienced twelve emergency landings and completed 423 operational missions. Like most Luftwaffe pilots, he flew constantly when fit to do so. After the war ended he devoted himself to aerobatic flying, becoming the German champion in 1962.

The Print:

Bandits Out Of The Sun by Darryl Legg

In the Spring of 1940 the crack German fighter wings were deployed all along the coast of Northern France, their pilots included some of the biggest names in the Luftwaffe, Adolf Galland, Johannes Steinhoff, Hannes Trautloft, Herbert Ihlefeld, Julius Meimberg, and Fritz Losigkeit, all of whom were to become leading aces. Darryl Legg captures the menacing sight of a ‘Rotte’ of Messerschmitt Me109s from JG-51 making an attack as they dive at full power out of the sun. This dramatic painting provides a superb impression of the outstanding Me109 in full flight.

BACKGROUND, PROVENANCE & AUTHENTICITY

Each autograph was personally collected in the early 1980s by Mr Pat Barnard, who had founded the Military Gallery during the 1970's. These original signatures formed part of a project supported by Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire VC, Air Vice Marshal Johnnie Johnson, Brigadier General Robin Olds and General Adolf Galland, all of whom advised and helped Mr Barnard collect the signatures.

Every Autograph (signature) offered by the publisher with this series of "Ensembles" is guaranteed to be original and genuine. Our reputation depends upon our integrity: We do not buy signatures from outside sources where it is often difficult to ascertain authenticity. We have the undisputed provenance for each signature which means that every Certificate of Authenticity supplied by the publisher is as genuine as the signatures it supports.

The Certificate of Authenticity supplied with each original autograph is authorised by the publisher, therefore making the Certificate a valuable document in itself. To counter the proliferation of forged signatures in the market today, and to guarantee the genuine nature of your investment, please keep your Certificate safe and secure. It will ensure there can never be any doubt as to the value of your collection in years to come.
