Sergeant Victor Hall Skillen, born in Northern Ireland 1917, joined the RAFVR in March 1939. Called up in September 1939 he completed his training and joined 5 OTU, Aston Down on May 27th, 1940. After converting to Blenheims, he was posted to 29 Squadron at Digby on June 16th and remained with the squadron throughout the Battle of Britain. On December 26th, 1940 he was posted to 23 Squadron at Ford. He was killed on March 11th, 1941 and is buried in St. Pierre Cemetery, Amiens, France. Besides his original medals, this group comes with his original Letter of Condolence (see picture) as well as original Telegram and envelope, and medals box of issue. Copies of Operation Records Book through Battle of Britain period are also included.
