Group Captain Leonard Cheshire VC, OM, DSO + 2 bars, DFC, MiD The legendary World War Two Lancaster pilot, Wing Leader who was the highest bravery award of the Victoria Cross and post war philanthropist. He flew with RAF Squadrons 102 & 35 before taking commands of 617 "Dambuster" & 76 Squadrons. After the war he was well known for his work with Charities and founded a nursing home which later became the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity and homes.
